Fully Qualified Electrician
Department: Operations.
Responsible To: Contract Manager.
Based At: Field Based / Leicester - Midlands.
The Role: The Lead Electrician is a very important role within the construction industry with vast responsibility to comply with all up to date legislation and co-ordination of management contracts. Health & Safety, design commercial analysis is key. Working closely alongside the contract managers and field operational colleagues to support cost-effective client focused projects of various size within many sectors.
Main Duties/Responsibilities.
• Install, maintain, and test electrical systems and equipment.
• Interpret electrical drawings and technical diagrams.
• Carry out first and second fix installations.
• Ensure all work complies with current UK regulations, including BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regulations).
• Conduct inspection and testing, completing relevant certifications.
• Diagnose and rectify electrical faults.
• Maintain a safe working environment in line with Health & Safety regulations.
• Liaise professionally with clients, contractors, and site managers
• Reading and examining drawings, plans documents, specifications.
• Assessing any environmental impact of buildings and construction projects.
• Liaise with in-house project management teams and subcontractors.
• Driving to and from various sites.
• Always ensure MJE Health, Safety and Environmental standards are adhered to and fully understood whilst carryout the role.
Requirements.
• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent)
• 18th Edition qualification (BS 7671)
• AM2 qualification
• ECS Gold Card
• Proven experience in electrical installations
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Full UK driving licence (preferred)
• 2391 Inspection & Testing qualification
Desirable.
• Experience in commercial or industrial installations
• IPAF or PASMA certification
