Governance Lawyer

We are currently seeking an experienced Governance Lawyer to provide short-term corporate governance support covering a period of staff absence.
This is an excellent opportunity for a legal professional with strong governance expertise to make an immediate impact within a fast-paced environment.
The Role
You will play a key role in supporting governance frameworks, advising on constitutional and administrative matters, and ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
* Advising on the legal requirements and limitations of a committee system of governance, including area committees
* Providing guidance on the organisation’s Constitution, including contributing to its review and development
* Drafting, reviewing, and advising on policy documents and governance protocols
* Advising on the scheme of delegations and requirements for reports to decision-makers
* Providing expert advice on constitutional and administrative law
* Attending and supporting meetings as required
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* Significant experience in governance within a public sector or similar environment
* Proven experience advising on and drafting constitutions or equivalent governance frameworks
* Strong knowledge of constitutional and administrative law
* Experience working with or advising on modern committee systems (highly desirable)
* The ability to interpret complex legal concepts and communicate them clearly to non-legal audiences
* Strong analytical skills, with the ability to review and process large volumes of documentation quickly
