Ideal for someone who learns by doing, the Graduate Fire Engineer will be immersed in real-world fire safety challenges from the outset. A pragmatic, solutions-driven attitude is essential-this isn't a role for those who prefer a purely theoretical or prescriptive approach.
The Graduate Fire Engineer's Role
The Graduate Fire Engineer's responsibilities will include assisting with fire strategy reports, conducting compartmentation surveys to Bluesky standards, and supporting with heat release calculations. The role is evenly split between site visits and office-based responsibilities, giving the successful candidate a strong foundation across both compliance and design.
The Graduate Fire Engineer
A degree in an Engineering field or technical subject is desirable
A proactive, hands-on approach with a strong desire to learn
Understanding of ADB Vols 1 & 2 is highly advantageous (or at least a high willingness to develop this understanding quickly)
Experience in passive fire protection and/or fire risk assessments is welcomed
Clear communicator with a practical mindset and interest in fire safety
Long-term ambition to grow within the fire engineering sectorIn Return?
Salary of £33,000 - £42,000, depending on skillset and experience
