๐ŸŒŸ About the School

An independent specialist day school supporting students aged 11โ€“16 who have experienced difficulties in mainstream settings. Pupils present with specific learning difficulties and more complex communication and interaction needs, including autism spectrum conditions.

The school maintains high expectations for every learner, delivering highly personalised education and therapeutic support aligned with each studentโ€™s Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). Their mission is to equip young people with the academic, emotional and practical skills needed to lead independent, fulfilling adult lives.
You will be joining a nurturing, inclusive and highly collaborative environment, working alongside a skilled multi-disciplinary team including Speech and Language Therapists (SALTs), Occupational Therapists, Educational Psychologists and specialist teachers.

๐Ÿงฉ Role and Responsibilities

๐Ÿ’ฌ Deliver targeted 1:1 and small-group communication and learning interventions
๐Ÿง  Use autism-friendly strategies including visual supports, PECS, Makaton and social stories
๐Ÿค Work closely with SALTs, teachers and pastoral staff to embed therapeutic approaches
๐ŸŒˆ Support studentsโ€™ emotional regulation, confidence and independence
๐Ÿ“Š Monitor and report on student progress and wellbeing
๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ Uphold safeguarding, inclusion and positive behaviour standards

๐ŸŽฏ Candidate Requirements

๐ŸŽ“ Degree in Psychology, Linguistics, Speech Sciences, Education or Child Development (or working towards)
โค๏ธ Genuine interest in autism, communication and complex SEN
๐Ÿ—ฃ๏ธ Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ Patient, empathetic and emotionally resilient
๐Ÿš— Able to travel to Quidenham / Norfolk area
โญ Previous SEN or youth work experience desirable but not essential
