Job Title: Civil Operative (Groundworker) Location: Long Lane, Whitson, Rotherham Project: GGP ((phone number removed)) Job Type: Temporary Contract Start Date: 23/03/2026 End Date: 25/09/2026 Hours: 45+ hours per week Working Hours: 07:30 - 17:30 Rate: £30 per hour (CIS/LTD) The Role: We are currently recruiting for an experienced Civil Operative (Groundworker) to join a National Grid substation project in Rotherham. This is a long-term contract opportunity working within a live T&D environment. Key Responsibilities: Carrying out general groundworks on a live substation site Supporting civil works including ducting, drainage, and foundations Working safely in accordance with site procedures and National Grid standards Assisting with installation and maintenance of infrastructure on site Adhering to all health & safety regulations at all timesEssential Requirements: HSG47 (Substation 2 Day Course) - Mandatory Temporary Works Supervisor - Mandatory Proven experience working on National Grid or similar substation projects Strong understanding of safe digging practices and utility avoidance Full PPE required prior to starting on siteAdditional Information: This role falls outside of contractor control (IR35 supervision applies) Candidates must meet all required criteria and hold valid tickets - no exceptions Immediate interviews and start available If you're interested and meet all requirements, please apply with your CV or get in touch directly to discuss further.
