Group Health and Safety Manager

Job Title: Group Health & Safety Manager Location: Essex (Head Office Based) Salary: Competitive + Package Employer: Main Contractor (Confidential) Overview An established and growing main contractor is looking to appoint a Group Health & Safety Manager to be based at their Head Office in Essex, overseeing health and safety across multiple projects throughout the South of England. This is a key role within the business, responsible for implementing and maintaining high health and safety standards across a diverse project portfolio including hotels, care homes, car showrooms, and mixed-use developments. The successful candidate will work closely with senior management, site teams, and subcontractors to promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and company procedures. Key Responsibilities Oversee health & safety strategy and compliance across all company projects Conduct site inspections and audits to ensure standards are maintained Develop and implement company-wide health & safety policies and procedures Provide guidance and support to site managers and project teams Investigate incidents, produce reports, and implement corrective actions Deliver health & safety training and toolbox talks where required Ensure compliance with UK HSE regulations and industry best practice Work with senior management to continuously improve safety performance across the business Requirements Proven experience in a Health & Safety Manager role within the construction industry Experience overseeing multiple construction sites Strong knowledge of UK health & safety legislation and compliance Excellent communication skills and ability to influence site teams Relevant qualifications such as NEBOSH Construction Certificate / Diploma Chartered or working towards IOSH membership is desirable What's on Offer Opportunity to join a well-established contractor with a growing project pipeline Strategic role with group-level responsibility across the business Competitive salary and benefits package Long-term career opportunity within a supportive and expanding company Application All applications will be handled in the strictest confidence.
