The Supply Register is currently recruiting Hair and Beauty Lecturers to join our bank of staff supporting Newcastle College. This is a fantastic opportunity for experienced Hair and Beauty Lecturers or industry professionals looking to move into education on a flexible basis.
The Role
As a Hair and Beauty Lecturer, you will deliver engaging, practical, and theory-based lessons, supporting learners to develop the skills and knowledge required for careers within the hairdressing and beauty industry.
Key responsibilities include:
Delivering Hair and Beauty lessons (NVQ / VRQ / City & Guilds)
Demonstrating practical techniques in hairdressing and/or beauty therapy
Supporting learners with assessments and practical coursework
Ensuring health and safety standards are followed in salon environments
Monitoring learner progress and providing constructive feedback
Creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
Industry experience within Hairdressing and/or Beauty Therapy
Relevant vocational qualification (Level 2/3 or above)
Teaching experience or willingness to move into education
Strong communication and practical demonstration skills
Ability to engage and support post-16 learners
Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain)
Desirable:
Teaching qualification (PGCE, CertEd, DET)
Assessor qualification (A1, TAQA, or equivalent)
Experience delivering NVQ/VRQ or City & Guilds qualifications
Previous experience within Further Education
