Hazardous Chemical Assessor (Office-Based) Location – Oxfordshire Sector – Chemistry / Hazardous Waste Salary – £28,000 - £35,000 (with further progression opportunities available) Full time, permanent role Do you have prior experience or expertise within hazardous chemical waste disposal? This could be as a Site Chemist or Technical Assessor - or managing chemical disposal within a laboratory or pilot plant environment. We are currently offering the opportunity for a new assessor to join our Oxfordshire-based client. They are seeking a hard-working and engaging individual to join their team. This role is ideal for someone who is interested in using their chemistry expertise in an office-based role. Applicants must have current UK work eligibility. Unfortunately, visa sponsorship cannot be offered for this position either now or in the future. The Role As a Hazardous Chemical Assessor, you will be responsible for: * Interacting with clients via the phone or email to accurately identify their hazardous chemical waste, * Ensuring all conditions are met for pre-acceptance of hazardous waste, * Determining appropriate routes of waste disposal, * Producing & issuing invoices for waste disposal. Current / Recent Experience Required The ideal candidate will have the following: * Experience with hazardous chemical disposal – hands-on segregation, labelling, packing, or disposal coordination with waste contractors - either within the hazardous waste industry or within a laboratory / pilot plant environment (essential). * Prior experience working within the hazardous waste industry (e.g. Technical Assessor / Site Chemist / Chempac Chemist) (desirable). * BSc / MSc / MChem in Chemistry / Chemical Engineering or a related discipline (desirable). Profile Required: * Existing UK work eligibility (essential). * Happy to commute / relocate to Oxfordshire (essential). * An interest in working in an office-based position (essential).
