Head of AI & Strategic Projects – Commercial Finance

GALENT are recruiting for a Head of AI & Strategic Projects – Commercial Finance opportunity for an experienced commercial finance professional based in Central London. This is a newly created and highly strategic role sitting at the intersection of strategic finance, finance transformation and AI within a global organisation. The role will support the adoption and governance of AI tools across the Commercial Finance function while partnering with senior leadership across a small but strategically important part of the business. You will provide financial insight on investment decisions, AI adoption and key strategic initiatives. Key responsibilities include: • Acting as the finance lead for AI initiatives and a newly created AI-driven production area • Implementing AI tools to enhance forecasting, reporting and financial analysis • Establishing governance frameworks and ROI tracking for AI initiatives • Reviewing investment proposals and supporting strategic capital allocation decisions • Conducting post-investment reviews and strategic analysis • Driving improvements in reporting, data quality and financial insight Candidate requirements: • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) • Strong commercial finance and financial modelling experience • Experience in strategic finance, transformation, or cross‑functional projects • Excellent analytical and stakeholder management skills • Interest in AI, data or technology-enabled finance transformation • Advanced Excel skills (data visualisation tools advantageous) Candidates can come from any industry background provided they bring strong commercial finance experience and the ability to operate in a strategic and evolving environment.
