Head of Geography – Stockport (Cheshire) – September 2026

We are working on behalf of a well-established secondary school in Stockport seeking to appoint an ambitious and experienced Head of Geography from September 2026.

This is an exciting opportunity for a talented Geography specialist to lead a successful department and drive high standards of teaching and learning across the subject.

The Role:

* Lead and develop the Geography department across KS3–KS4 (KS5 desirable)

* Deliver high-quality teaching and learning within your own timetable

* Drive student progress and attainment across all key stages

* Develop and implement a strong, engaging Geography curriculum

* Support and mentor staff within the department

* Contribute to whole-school improvement and leadership

The Ideal Candidate:

* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

* Strong experience teaching Geography in a UK secondary school

* Previous leadership experience or ready to step into a leadership role

* Proven track record of raising attainment

* Strong organisational and leadership skills

* Passion for Geography and student success
