Salary: £20.00 – £21.00 per hour (DOE)
Hours: Monday to Friday – 10-hour shifts (Approx. 50 hours per week)

HGV Mechanic – Avonmouth
ITS Construction are currently recruiting for an experienced HGV Mechanic to join a busy and well-established operation based in Avonmouth. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled heavy vehicle mechanic looking for long-term, stable work within a professional and supportive team.
You will be responsible for maintaining, servicing, and repairing a fleet of heavy goods vehicles to ensure they remain safe, compliant, and operational at all times.
Key Responsibilities
*
Carry out routine servicing, inspections, and preventative maintenance on HGVs
*
Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults and carry out repairs efficiently
*
Conduct safety checks in line with DVSA standards
*
Maintain accurate service and repair records
*
Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and within required timeframes
*
Work in line with company health & safety procedures and workshop practices
*
Assist with breakdown response and urgent repairs where required
Requirements
*
Proven experience working as an HGV Mechanic or HGV Technician
*
Strong knowledge of diesel engines, braking systems, hydraulics, and vehicle electrics
*
Ability to diagnose faults using both manual inspection and diagnostic equipment
*
NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent (desirable)
*
Full UK driving licence (HGV licence advantageous but not essential)
*
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
