HGV Mechanic

If you're an experienced HGV Technician who enjoys working independently, taking pride in high-quality work, and dealing with specialist equipment, this is a solid long-term opportunity with great earning potential and a stable weekday routine. You'll be trusted to manage your own workload, work on modern fleet equipment, and play a key role in keeping vehicles road-ready and customers happy. The Role You'll be responsible for maintaining and preparing HGVs and associated equipment to a high standard, including: Preparing vehicles for customer handovers and completing pre-delivery inspections Carrying out 6-weekly inspections and MOT preparation Testing, commissioning, servicing, and repairing hook-loader and skip-loader equipment Completing repairs and inspections on lorry loader cranes Attending customer sites and local breakdowns to carry out minor repairs and minimise downtime Working independently while remaining part of a supportive, experienced team What You'll Need Level 3 qualification in HGV Mechanics (or equivalent) Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence Confident working independently and using your own initiative Experience with LOLER testing on skip and hook equipment Good all-round knowledge of HGV body types Strong organisation skills and the ability to prioritise effectively A proactive, solution-focused mindset and strong work ethic Desirable (but not essential) HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) licence Experience working with hydraulic systems Previous work on lorry loader cranes What's in it for you?
