HGV Technician

HGV Technician Location: Heckmondwike £45,000 – £55,000 DOE + Overtime Hours: 38.5 Hours per week   The Opportunity for the HGV Technician We are recruiting an experienced HGV Technician to take a leading role within a busy PSV and coach workshop. You will be responsible for complex diagnostics, major component repairs and supporting workshop standards across a modern fleet of buses and coaches. This position suits a highly competent technician confident working independently on advanced faults and high-value repairs.   Key Responsibilities of the HGV Technician Carrying out advanced diagnostics and fault finding on PSV buses and coaches Major engine, gearbox and driveline repairs Electrical diagnostics including CAN-bus systems 6-weekly inspections, servicing and full preventative maintenance Work with advanced systems including CAN Line, After-Treatment Exhaust Systems, Multiplex networks, Euro5/Euro6 engines and hybrid technologies. MOT preparation and ensuring DVSA compliance standards are met Diagnosing and resolving complex intermittent faults Supporting junior technicians with technical guidance where required Ensuring first-time fix rates and high fleet availability  What the HGV Technician must have: Level 3 HGV / PSV qualification Extensive experience working on HGV, PSV, buses or coaches Strong diagnostic capability using OEM systems Proven experience with engine rebuilds and major component replacement Solid understanding of DVSA inspection and compliance requirements Ability to work independently and to high technical standards Full UK Driving Licence (PCV desirable but not essential)This is a great opportunity for a qualified HGV Technician looking for that next step.
