We are currently recruiting on behalf of a nationwide businesss, looking for an experienced HGV Technician to join their established team in Preston on a full-time, permanent basis.
Working on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern, this is an excellent opportunity for an experienced commercial vehicle technician looking for a stable position, competitive salary and strong employee benefits.
The Role
As an HGV Technician, you will be responsible for the maintenance, servicing, inspection, diagnostics and repair of heavy commercial vehicles.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Carrying out servicing, maintenance, inspections and repairs on HGVs
* Following job cards, repair instructions and manufacturer technical information
* Diagnosing faults and carrying out effective repairs
* Completing testing and accurately recording all work undertaken
* Identifying and immediately reporting any additional work or vehicle faults
* Maintaining and correctly using workshop tools and equipment
* Reporting any damaged, missing or faulty equipment
About You
* A completed HGV / Heavy Vehicle apprenticeship or equivalent qualification
* Previous experience working as an HGV or Commercial Vehicle Technician
* Strong knowledge of the truck and commercial vehicle industry
* Good mechanical and diagnostic skills
* The right to work in the UK
