Highways Maintenance Inspector/Engineer

Our client is currently seeking a dedicated Highways Maintenance Inspector/Engineer for a contract role within the Highways sector. This important position involves ensuring the safe and efficient maintenance of highways in one of London's busiest boroughs.

Key Responsibilities:

Conducting routine inspections and assessments of highways and related infrastructure
Identifying maintenance needs and prioritising repair works
Coordinating and supervising maintenance activities, including repairs and resurfacing
Ensuring all works are carried out in compliance with relevant health and safety regulations
Preparing reports and maintenance records for management review
Liaising with contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure timely project delivery
Monitoring and managing the budget for maintenance projects
Responding to emergency maintenance situations and providing effective solutions

Job Requirements:

Experience in highways maintenance or a related field
Strong understanding of maintenance techniques and best practices
Knowledge of health and safety regulations relating to highways
Excellent organisational and time management skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Proficient in reporting and documentation
Effective communication and coordination skills
Relevant engineering qualification or equivalent experience
