Paramedic – Primary Care Felixstowe £20–£25 per hour 2–3 days per week | 9:30am start We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Paramedic to join a friendly and supportive primary care team in Felixstowe. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a dynamic clinical environment, providing high-quality, patient-centred care across multiple practice sites, care homes and patients’ residences. The Role You will work as part of a multidisciplinary clinical team alongside GPs, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Practice Nurses, Healthcare Assistants and non-clinical colleagues. The post holder will provide high-quality, cost-effective care, assessing, diagnosing and prescribing treatments (where appropriate) in line with defined procedures and GP protocols. This role involves managing a wide range of minor illnesses, urgent and same-day presentations, as well as supporting chronic disease management. Key Responsibilities * Provide assessment, diagnosis and treatment at first point of contact in surgeries, care homes and patients’ homes * Act as an autonomous clinician with GP support and guidance * Conduct clinical assessments including history taking, examination, diagnosis, treatment and evaluation of care * Triage and prioritise patients appropriately, including emergency situations * Initiate appropriate referrals for investigations, specialist input or hospital admission where required * Diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions using pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatment plans * Identify and proactively manage patients at risk of developing long-term conditions * Recognise, assess and refer patients presenting with mental health needs * Undertake telephone triage for clinics, home visits and care home ward rounds * Arrange flu vaccinations and immunisations for care home and housebound patients * Maintain accurate, contemporaneous and succinct medical records * Work within clinic settings using AskMyGP as required * Support health promotion, healthy lifestyle advice and disease prevention initiatives * Provide clinical advice and support to colleagues * Support induction and training of team members where applicable Person Specification Essential * Registered Paramedic Desirable * Minor Illness qualification * Phlebotomy trained * SystmOne trained * Previous primary care experience (secondary care experience also considered) If you are a motivated Paramedic looking to develop or continue your career within primary care, we would love to hear from you
