Honing Operator

Monday–Friday, 39 hours per week
£12.84 per hour + shift premium + overtime
About the Role
We are looking for a quality‑driven Honing Operator to join our production team. In this role, you will ensure all cages are honed to precise standards while maintaining the highest levels of workmanship, accuracy, and compliance.

05:00–13:00
Or
13:00–21:00
Shift allocated based on business needs.
Pay Rates
£12.84 per hour
+20% premium for hours worked outside 08:00–16:30 £15.41
Weekday OT: £19.26
Weekend OT: £25.68
What You’ll Do
Carry out rough and finish honing to strict quality standards
Follow approved processes, work instructions, and inspection requirements
Maintain a clean, safe and controlled work area to support quality output
Escalate defects, non‑conformance, or risks immediately
Support continuous improvement and share best practices
Assist with training colleagues to ensure consistent quality across the team
What We’re Looking For
Experience working in a quality‑focused engineering or assembly role
NVQ Level 1 or 2 preferred
Skilled in handling small components with precision
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to “right first time”
Good communicator who follows procedures accurately
Familiarity with air‑driven tools or hydraulics is an advantage
