Housing Income Manager

We are seeking an experienced Housing Income Manager to lead the Council's rent collection, arrears recovery and wider housing income function.

Key responsibilities include:

Leading the housing income and rent collection service.

*

Managing current and former tenant arrears and income recovery.

*

Developing strategies to improve collection rates and reduce arrears.

*

Monitoring income, performance, financial risk and bad debt.

*

Leading effective approaches to Universal Credit, Housing Benefit and welfare reform.

*

Working closely with Housing, Finance, Revenues and Benefits, Legal and external partners.

*

Ensuring appropriate consideration of vulnerability and safeguarding.

*

Using data and performance information to drive service improvement.

*

Leading, managing and developing the income management team.

*

Contributing to HRA business planning and the wider financial sustainability of the housing service.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience of housing income or rent collection within a local authority or social housing environment, together with excellent financial, analytical, leadership and customer-service skills
