Housing Support Worker (Hostel) 📍 Ladbroke Grove 💰 £27,008 per annum 📅 Closing date: 23rd March 2026 🗓 Interviews: Week commencing 6th April 2026 🚀 Start date: 20th April 2026 About the Role Are you passionate about supporting vulnerable residents and making a real difference in a hostel environment? We are looking for a reliable and committed Housing Support Worker to join our team in Ladbroke Grove. You will play a vital role in ensuring the safety, wellbeing and smooth day-to-day running of the hostel, supporting residents while maintaining a secure and welcoming environment. This is a hands-on role where no two shifts are the same. You’ll be working both independently and as part of a wider team to ensure residents feel safe, respected and supported. Key Responsibilities 🏢 Building Safety & Security * Ensure the building remains secure at all times * Carry out regular patrols and safety checks * Respond promptly to emergencies and contact services where necessary * Log defects and report repairs 👥 Resident Support & Welfare * Welcome residents and manage access to the building * Monitor adherence to house rules and visitor procedures * Respond appropriately to incidents, including challenging behaviour * Maintain clear, accurate shift logs and handover notes 📝 Lettings & Administration * Liaise with the Senior Housing Support Officer regarding nominations * Conduct viewings and support tenancy sign-ups * Notify Head Office of tenancy changes * Maintain accurate administrative records 🔧 Repairs & Contractors * Report repairs and supervise contractors on site What We’re Looking For Essential * GCSE or NVQ Level 2 * Experience working in a supportive environment * Experience dealing with the public in challenging situations * Awareness of Health & Safety procedures * Strong communication skills (written and verbal) * Ability to work independently and use initiative * Reliable, trustworthy and able to work night/weekend rotas Desirable * Experience working with young people in a hostel setting * Understanding of housing projects You must be comfortable working night shifts and remain alert and vigilant throughout your shift.
