Key Responsibilities
* Act as the lead HR professional within the business, providing expert advice, guidance and challenge to managers and directors on all people-related matters.
* Develop and implement a clear people strategy aligned to business objectives and future growth plans.
* Support the embedding of company values, behaviours and ways of working throughout the organisation.
* Drive a culture of accountability, high performance and continuous improvement.
* Lead and independently manage employee relations matters, including disciplinary, grievance, absence management, performance management, capability and dismissal processes.
* Coach and support managers to confidently address people issues, improve management effectiveness and build leadership capability.
* Challenge and influence management decisions where appropriate, ensuring fair, consistent and legally compliant people practices.
* Develop and implement robust performance management frameworks that drive employee engagement, development and business performance.
* Lead workforce planning initiatives, identifying current and future talent requirements and supporting succession planning activities.
* Design and implement organisational development initiatives that support employee growth, business effectiveness and cultural alignment.
* Review and enhance onboarding, induction, probation and employee development programmes to improve employee experience and retention.
* Identify opportunities to reduce key-person dependency by improving knowledge sharing, role clarity, succession planning and management capability.
* Review and develop HR policies, procedures and processes to ensure compliance, consistency and operational efficiency.
* Oversee recruitment activities, partnering with hiring managers to attract, assess and secure high-quality talent.
* Manage employee benefits and contribute to reward and recognition initiatives that support attraction and retention.
* Maintain ownership of the HRIS and employee data, ensuring accuracy, compliance and meaningful reporting.
* Produce HR metrics and management information to support decision-making and identify trends, risks and opportunities.
* Lead culture, engagement and employee wellbeing initiatives that contribute to a positive and productive working environment.
About You To be successful in this role, you will have:
Essential
* CIPD Level 3 qualified as a minimum, ideally working towards or holding
* Previous experience operating as an HR Manager, People Manager, HR Business Partner or in a standalone HR position.
* Demonstrable experience independently managing complex employee relations cases from start to finish.
* Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
* Experience influencing, coaching and challenging managers on people-related matters.
* Experience implementing and improving HR processes, policies and people initiatives.
* Experience driving performance management, employee engagement and organisational improvement initiatives.
* Exposure to workforce planning, talent development and succession planning activities.
* Previous experience working within a growing SME or entrepreneurial business environment.
