HVAC Designer
We’re looking for an HVAC Design Engineer to design and deliver efficient, cost-effective heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems for commercial, and industrial projects. You’ll work closely with main contractor design teams, contractors, and project teams to turn concepts into buildable solutions. You will be eligible to work in the UK.
The Company
We’re a small, specialist mechanical services engineering company delivering Cat-A and Cat-B office refurbishment projects across the South-East. A large proportion of our work
comes from long-standing repeat clients, and we take a practical, honest approach to Design & Build.
We’re now looking for a Senior HVAC Design Engineer to take technical ownership of HVAC design on a part-time basis (3 days/week), with the option to increase days as workload grows.
This role suits an experienced engineer who enjoys hands-on design, direct collaboration with contractors, and working without layers of bureaucracy.
What You’ll Do
Design and size HVAC systems (ductwork, piping, equipment, controls).
Perform load calculations and energy modeling.
Create drawings, specifications, and technical submittals.
Ensure designs meet ASHRAE, CIBSE, and sustainability standards.
Coordinate with other disciplines (structural, Space Planners and electrical contractors).
Support installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
Present concept design to all stakeholders and revise based on client-side feedback.
What We’re Looking For
Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Significant UK commercial HVAC design experience
Comfortable operating at senior / lead engineer level Strong knowledge of:
VRF/VRV systems
Chilled water system
Heat recovery / low-energy solutions
Proficient in AutoCAD and/or Revit
Pragmatic, commercially aware, and confident dealing with clients and contractors
