Location: Outskirts of Colchester (own transport required)
Pay Rate: £16.15 per hour
Hours: 6:00pm – 3:00am, 4 on / 4 off shift pattern (including some weekends)
Contract Type: Temporary to Permanent
Role Overview:
We are seeking two experienced and motivated Night Shift Hygiene Operative Team Leaders to join our team. You will be responsible for leading a small team of hygiene operatives to ensure all cleaning activities are completed to the highest standards, supporting food safety, and maintaining compliance with company and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
* Carry out cleaning tasks as outlined in Cleaning Instruction Cards and work schedules.
* Lead and support a team of hygiene operatives.
* Adhere to all Health & Safety and Food Safety procedures.
* Perform daily, weekly, and periodic cleaning of machinery and production areas.
* Dismantle equipment for thorough deep cleaning.
* Safely handle and work with cleaning chemicals.
* Complete and maintain all required documentation and sign-offs.
* Provide cover for holidays and absences.
* Work closely with the Hygiene Manager and Hygiene Supervisor to drive continuous improvement and maintain high factory standards.
Requirements:
* Self-motivated and reliable.
* Strong team player with a proactive attitude.
* Excellent attention to detail and a conscientious approach.
* Proven track record of reliability and responsibility.
* Previous experience leading a small team is preferred, though transferable leadership skills will be considered.
