Injection Mould Technician
Are you an experienced Injection Moulding Technician who enjoys optimising processes, troubleshooting faults and driving continuous improvement? We’re supporting a well-established manufacturing business looking to strengthen their Mouldshop team with a skilled Technician who can take ownership of tooling, process optimisation and production performance. What’s the role all about? As a Technician, you’ll optimise mould shop activity to achieve commercial and customer goals across Safety, Environment, Cost, Quality and Delivery. You’ll play a key role in maximising OEE, conducting efficient tool changes and applying structured problem-solving techniques to eliminate repeat issues. This is a hands-on, technical role where you’ll work closely with Production, Quality and Engineering teams. Your responsibilities will include: Loading and unloading injection mould tools safely Setting production tooling and ancillary equipment in line with master settings Planning and preparing production jobs to optimise changeovers Conducting tool changes in line with agreed KPIs Supporting effective handovers between set-up and production Following reject escalation processes and reporting equipment concerns Applying structured root cause analysis and permanent corrective actions Working cross-functionally to resolve injection moulding process issues Maintaining accurate production and process records Supporting New Product Introduction (trials, SMS etc.) Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives Raising equipment/tooling work requests (MAR, TAR etc.) Performing routine equipment maintenance Supporting housekeeping and promoting strong team culture What you’ll need Essential: NVQ Level 3 / Level 3 PTIC (or equivalent) in Injection Moulding or related engineering discipline Completed Apprenticeship Advanced Injection Moulding (AIM) or Process Technician training Strong knowledge of injection moulding processes and optimisation Experience with injection moulding machines and safety systems Knowledge of ancillary equipment (robots, hot runners, mould heaters) Experience with scientific moulding / DOE Strong troubleshooting and structured problem-solving skills Previous experience in an injection moulding technician role About you You’re technically capable, methodical and confident in a mould shop environment.
