Job Title: Interim Administrative Officer – Housing (Maintenance & Compliance) Location: West Sussex (Office-based) Contract: Interim – 6 months initially Working Pattern: Full-time or Part-time considered Rate: £23 per hour Overview A Local Authority in West Sussex is seeking a highly organised and hardworking Interim Administrative Officer to support their Housing Maintenance and Compliance teams. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a busy public sector environment, providing key administrative support to ensure housing services run efficiently for local residents. Key Responsibilities * Acting as a first point of contact for residents, handling incoming calls and enquiries in a professional and helpful manner * Scheduling and booking maintenance and compliance jobs for housing properties * Liaising with internal teams, contractors, and residents to coordinate works * Maintaining accurate records and updating internal IT systems * Providing general administrative support to the Maintenance and Compliance teams * Ensuring queries and requests are logged and processed efficiently Requirements * Strong organisational and administrative skills * Confident handling phone enquiries and dealing with residents * Good IT literacy and ability to work with internal systems and databases * Ability to manage multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced environment Desirable * Previous experience working within Public Sector Housing or Social Housing * Administrative experience within the public sector * Experience supporting property, maintenance, repairs, or compliance related teams Additional Information * Office-based role in West Sussex * Part-time or full-time working arrangements will be considered * Initial 6-month contract with the opportunity to apply for a permanent role following an upcoming service restructure This role would suit an organised administrator with strong communication skills who enjoys supporting operational teams and delivering good service to residents
