Interim Internal Audit Manager - Either Manchester, London or Reading - Hybrid Job description BDO Regulatory Solutions are currently recruiting for an Interim Internal Audit Manager to join our client, a banking and financial services organisation, based in either Manchester, London or Reading. We are offering an initial 3‑month contract starting in April, with an excellent day rate, employed via an Umbrella company. About the role This is a hands‑on Internal Audit position suited to a mid‑level auditor who enjoys delivering end‑to‑end audits. You will support the annual audit plan across Collections and Financial Crime, producing high‑quality workpapers and conducting detailed fieldwork within a regulated environment. This role works closely with Senior Audit Managers and requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail and the ability to deliver accurate, robust audit documentation. Key responsibilities include: Supporting audit planning, including scoping, risk assessment and control identification Developing audit work programmes tailored to collections and financial crime Conducting pre‑audit research, data gathering and stakeholder engagement Performing hands‑on testing of controls, processes and systems Preparing complete and accurate audit working papers aligned to methodology Conducting walkthroughs, sample testing, evidence collection and validation Identifying control gaps, weaknesses and emerging risks Drafting concise audit findings and contributing to audit reports Supporting follow‑up activity to confirm remediation actions Building productive relationships with internal stakeholdersAbout you We’re looking for an Internal Auditor with: 3–6 years’ experience in financial services internal audit Strong hands‑on delivery skills (testing, walkthroughs, workpapers) Knowledge of collections operations and/or financial crime (AML, sanctions, fraud) Excellent written communication and analytical ability Experience working within a regulated environment (desirable) Professional certifications (CIA, ACA, ACCA, CFE) beneficial but not essentiaAdditional Information Location: Manchester / London / Reading (Hybrid, 2 days per week onsite) Duration: 3 months Start Date: April Working Hours: Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm Day Rate: To be confirmed (paid to an Umbrella company) IR35 Status: Inside IR35 (Umbrella)   Are you ready to join the team?
