IT Engineer
We’re hiring for an IT Engineer to join a growing engineering and manufacturing business based in Salford. In this role, you’ll take ownership of IT infrastructure, systems, and support, acting as a key technical lead across multiple sites while ensuring systems remain secure, reliable, and scalable. What’s on offer? * £45,000 - £50,000 p/a * Mon – Fri | 8am – 4:30pm * 25 days holiday * Pension scheme * Permanent role within a growing engineering environment * Opportunity to lead and improve a key operational function What will you be doing as an IT Engineer? * Leading and supporting the IT helpdesk and support function * Acting as the escalation point for 2nd and 3rd line support issues * Managing and maintaining servers, networks, cloud systems and backups * Supporting and developing Microsoft environments (M365, Active Directory, Windows Server) * Overseeing network infrastructure (LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, switching) * Implementing and maintaining cyber security controls and system monitoring * Supporting disaster recovery, patching and system resilience * Leading IT projects, improvements and technical upgrades * Creating and maintaining IT documentation and best practice processes * Mentoring junior IT staff and supporting team development What will you need? * Proven experience in a Senior IT Engineer, Infrastructure Engineer or IT Support Lead role * Strong background in IT infrastructure, networks and cloud systems * Experience providing 2nd and 3rd line support * Knowledge of Microsoft technologies (M365, Active Directory, Windows Server) * Understanding of cyber security best practices * Ability to lead technical projects Interested?
