Junior Estimator

Junior Estimator Salary: £28,000 – £30,000 Location: Horley Our client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Estimator to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience or knowledge in AutoCAD and an interest in estimating mechanical and electrical (M&E) projects to develop their career within a supportive and fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the preparation of accurate cost estimates for a range of M&E projects, helping to ensure competitive and commercially sound tenders. This position would suit an organised individual with strong numerical skills, a keen eye for detail, and a genuine interest in the construction and building services sector. Key Responsibilities * Assist in preparing cost estimates and tender submissions for M&E projects * Review technical drawings, specifications and project documents * Use AutoCAD knowledge to interpret and understand design layouts * Measure quantities and help compile pricing information * Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain quotations * Support the senior estimating team with bid preparation and cost analysis * Maintain accurate records of estimates, quotations and project documentation * Help identify potential cost-saving opportunities and commercial risks Requirements * Previous experience in an estimating role, or a strong interest in developing within estimating * Knowledge of AutoCAD and the ability to read technical drawings * Understanding of M&E projects or the building services sector * Strong numerical and analytical skills * Good attention to detail and a methodical approach to work * Confident communication skills and the ability to work well within a team * Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel * A positive attitude and willingness to learn Desirable * Experience supporting tenders within construction or M&E environments * Relevant qualification in construction, engineering, building services or a related field * Familiarity with cost planning or quantity take-offs What’s on Offer * Competitive salary of £28,000 – £30,000 * Opportunity to develop a long-term career in estimating * Exposure to a variety of M&E projects * Supportive working environment with training and development opportunities This is a fantastic opportunity for a junior-level candidate looking to build their career with a well-established business in the M&E sector
