Junior Mechanical Estimator – Ideal for a Plumber / Pipefitter Looking to Come Off the Tools We are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established M&E Contractor based in Leicester who are looking to bring on a Junior Mechanical Estimator to join their growing team. This role is ideal for a Mechanical tradesperson (Plumber, Pipefitter, Heating Engineer, HVAC Installer etc.) who is looking to come off the tools and progress into an office-based role within the building services sector. You will work alongside experienced estimators and project managers, learning how to price and prepare tenders for a range of commercial and industrial mechanical projects. The Role * Assisting with preparation of mechanical tenders and estimates * Reviewing drawings and specifications * Helping to price mechanical packages including pipework, plumbing, heating and HVAC systems * Obtaining supplier and subcontractor quotations * Supporting senior estimators with take-offs and cost breakdowns * Liaising with project managers, suppliers and internal teams The Ideal Candidate * Background as a Mechanical tradesperson (Plumber, Pipefitter, Heating Engineer etc.) * Looking to progress into estimating or project management * Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings (desirable) * Good communication and organisational skills * Basic computer skills and willingness to learn estimating software What’s on Offer * Excellent opportunity to progress from site into an office career * Full training and mentoring from experienced estimators * Long-term career progression within a growing M&E contractor * Competitive salary depending on experience
