Junior Sous Chef
About the Role We are looking for a talented and driven Junior Sous Chef to join the kitchen team at a high-end, fresh food gastro pub in Tonbridge. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate chef who thrives in a fast-paced environment and wants to work with high-quality, seasonal ingredients in a busy, well-respected kitchen. Key Responsibilities * Support the Head Chef and Sous Chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen * Help lead and motivate the kitchen brigade during busy services * Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency * Assist with menu development using fresh, seasonal produce * Ensure all food hygiene, health, and safety standards are maintained * Manage stock control, ordering, and minimise waste * Train and support junior members of the kitchen team Requirements * Previous experience as a Junior Sous Chef or strong Chef de Partie in a fresh food environment * Experience working in a busy, high-volume kitchen * Passion for quality ingredients and modern British gastro pub food * Strong organisational skills and ability to perform under pressure * Good leadership and communication skills * Knowledge of food safety and kitchen compliance standards What We Offer * Competitive salary £32,000 – £35,000 depending on experience * Tronc and performance-based bonus * Live-in accommodation available if required * Opportunity to work in a high-quality gastro pub with a strong reputation * Supportive team environment with opportunities for progression
