Junior Tooling Engineer

Junior Tooling Engineer / Technical Estimator The role is a hybrid position sitting between toolmaking, design support and estimating, helping manage customer enquiries from initial enquiry through to quotation and order placement. The type of candidate we are looking for would ideally have: • 2 - 8 years experience within precision engineering, press tooling or a similar manufacturing environment • Good IT skills and confidence working with ERP systems, Excel and CAD software • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and tooling layouts • Experience liaising with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain pricing • Strong organisational and communication skills The role would involve: • Reviewing customer enquiries and drawings • Working with our internal design and toolmaking team to assess manufacturing approach • Obtaining subcontractor quotations (heat treatment, grinding, coatings etc.) • Building cost estimates and preparing quotations • Updating our ERP system and managing the enquiry process through to purchase order We are open to someone who is technically capable, organised and commercially minded. £30,000 - £50,000 DOE 25 days holiday Pension
