Field Based Derbyshire to Northern England

C£40,000pa + Bonus + Company Benefits

Are you a commercially driven sales professional with a strong engineering background and a passion for building long-term client relationships within the bespoke engineering and capex world

We are recruiting for an experienced Key Account Manager to join a growing and ambitious engineering business. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a consultative B2B sales environment and enjoys managing key customer relationships while driving new business growth.

The Role

As a Key Account Manager, you will take ownership of an established territory, managing key accounts and developing repeat business opportunities across the engineering sector. You will play a key role in driving profitability, increasing market share and supporting the wider commercial objectives of the business.

This is a consultative, relationship-led sales role requiring strong technical understanding, commercial awareness and the ability to identify customer needs and deliver tailored solutions.

Key Responsibilities

* Achieve monthly and quarterly sales targets within your territory

* Manage and develop existing key accounts to maximise repeat business opportunities

* Identify and secure new business opportunities through proactive sales activity

* Follow up and convert marketing-generated leads

* Plan and manage customer site visits effectively

* Prepare and submit technical quotations and sales documentation

* Work closely with customers and internal technical teams to deliver solutions

* Maintain accurate records and pipeline activity through the CRM system

* Provide regular sales forecasts, KPI reporting and activity updates

* Monitor competitor activity and market trends

* Support the Sales Director and wider business where required

About You

We are looking for a motivated and professional sales individual who can combine technical understanding with strong relationship management skills.

You will ideally have:

* A proven track record in engineering or technical sales

* Experience within a consultative B2B sales environment

* Strong account management and customer relationship skills

* A technical mindset with an interest in mechanical products

* Excellent communication and organisational abilities

* The ability to manage priorities and work towards targets

* A professional and proactive approach
