Job Description

Are you a passionate Chef looking for a rewarding role where you can make a real difference to people's lives? We are looking for a dedicated and creative Chef to join our team and lead the kitchen in providing high-quality, nutritious, and appetizing meals for our residents.

In a care home setting, mealtimes are often the highlight of the day. You won't just be cooking; you’ll be ensuring our residents receive the care and dignity they deserve through excellent food service.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and cook varied, balanced, and tasty meals tailored to the dietary needs of elderly residents.

*

Manage specialized diets, including fortified meals, diabetic-friendly options, and texture-modified foods (IDDSI standards).

*

Maintain the highest standards of kitchen hygiene and food safety (HACCP), ensuring a 5-star food hygiene rating.

*

Order stock, manage budgets, and minimize wastage while maintaining a high standard of ingredients.

*

Engage with residents to gather feedback on menus and ensure their preferences are met.

Requirements

*

Experience: Previous experience as a Chef, preferably within a healthcare, school, or residential care setting.

*

Qualifications: NVQ Level 2/3 in Professional Cookery or Food Preparation (or equivalent).

*

Compliance: Valid Level 2 or 3 Food Hygiene Certificate.

*

Skills: Strong understanding of nutrition for the elderly and knowledge of modified textures.

*

Attributes: A patient, empathetic nature and a "can-do" attitude.

*

DBS: An enhanced DBS check will be required for this role (we can assist with this process).
