Level 2 Teaching Assistant – Year 6 (KS2)
Full-Time | Term Time Only | Preston

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Level 2 Teaching Assistant to support within a Year 6 (KS2) classroom at a welcoming and reputable Community School in Preston.

This is a full-time, term-time role, working Monday to Friday, 8:45am – 3:15pm.

The school has built an excellent reputation both within the local community and across the wider Preston area and is graded GOOD by Ofsted. The Head Teacher and Senior Leadership Team pride themselves on maintaining strong, open communication with both staff and parents, creating a positive and supportive environment. Their core focus is ensuring that pupils are happy, engaged, and enjoy their learning.

About the Role:
Year 6 is a pivotal stage in primary pupils’ education, and this role is ideally suited to a confident and experienced Teaching Assistant who can provide high-quality classroom support. You will work closely with the class teacher to support pupils academically and emotionally, helping them prepare for the transition to secondary school.

Key Responsibilities:

Supporting teaching and learning across the Year 6 curriculum
Providing targeted support in Maths and English
Working with small groups and on a 1:1 basis where required
Assisting with SATs preparation and intervention sessions
Promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment
Requirements:

Minimum Level 2 qualification in Childcare, Teaching Assistant, or a relevant field
Proven experience supporting within a KS2 classroom
Strong knowledge of the KS2 Maths and English curriculum
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
A proactive, flexible, and supportive approach

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
