Lead Building Regulations Principal Designer
An established architectural practice is looking for a Lead Building Regulations Principal Designer to join its growing Manchester team and play a key role in developing its BRPD service.
This position offers considerably more than project delivery. The successful Principal Designer will have the opportunity to shape how BRPD services are delivered, develop relationships with clients and become a key technical authority within the practice.
You will work within an experienced architectural environment on complex residential, healthcare and Higher-Risk Building projects.
The Lead BRPD Role
The Lead BRPD will oversee Building Regulations compliance throughout the design process, providing expert advice to clients and multidisciplinary project teams.
You will lead on Higher-Risk Building activity, including Gateway submissions, design compliance, change management and liaison with the Building Safety Regulator.
The role will also involve developing technical standards, supporting architectural teams, contributing to bids and fee proposals and helping expand the consultancy's BRPD client base.
The Lead Building Regulations Principal Designer
Experienced BRPD, Building Control professional or technically strong Architect
Strong Higher-Risk Building experience
Detailed knowledge of the Building Regulations
Strong understanding of the Building Safety Act
Gateway and BSR experience
RICS, CABE, RIBA, ARB or CIAT advantageous
Strong client-facing and technical leadership ability
