Lead Civil Estimator

This is an opportunity to lead pricing strategy on nationally significant transport and civil engineering schemes within a Tier 1 environment. You will directly influence project acquisition, margin protection and long-term framework positioning, operating at the forefront of Ireland’s major infrastructure delivery pipeline. The role offers clear progression into broader commercial leadership within a high-performing civil contractor. Responsibilities * Lead the preparation and submission of major civil and transport tenders * Develop comprehensive pricing strategies aligned with commercial and risk objectives * Oversee detailed quantity take-offs, cost build-ups and subcontractor pricing analysis * Identify and evaluate technical and commercial risks within tender documentation * Drive value engineering and alternative methodology reviews during pre-construction * Lead and coordinate bid teams, including planners, engineers and commercial staff * Engage with supply chain partners to secure competitive and compliant quotations * Present tender strategies and commercial positions to senior leadership * Support post-tender negotiations and handover to delivery teams Criteria for the Role * Extensive experience estimating large-scale civil or transport infrastructure projects * Strong background within Tier 1 or major civil contracting environments * Demonstrable leadership experience within pre-construction or estimating teams * Advanced knowledge of civil methodologies, sequencing and risk assessment * Strong commercial awareness and strategic bid positioning capability * Ability to operate under tight deadlines across complex submissions * Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering or related discipline * Professional accreditation advantageous What’s On Offer * €130,000 basic salary * Performance-related bonus * Senior leadership position within a Tier 1 civil contractor * Clear progression into broader commercial or pre-construction leadership
