Senior Site Technician
Location: East Midlands
Salary: £46,746.56 per annum
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Working Pattern: Flexibility required for 24/7 call-out rota
Additional: £2,000 welcome bonus + standby payment + 5% SLA
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Site Technician to join a leading facilities management operation supporting a large, highly automated site in the East Midlands.
This is a hands-on supervisory position, with a minimum of 50% of your time spent carrying out planned and reactive maintenance. You will act as the first point of contact for maintenance issues on site, while supervising a small engineering team and supporting the wider site management function.
The role would suit an experienced electrical or multi-skilled engineer who is ready to take the next step into a senior or supervisory position.
The Role
*
Deliver and supervise planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance activities.
*
Act as the first point of contact for maintenance issues across the site.
*
Diagnose faults and carry out repairs across electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and automated systems.
*
Supervise and support a team of site technicians and maintenance operatives.
*
Ensure all PPM, reactive and compliance tasks are completed within agreed timescales.
*
Maintain accurate maintenance records and ensure documentation is completed and uploaded correctly.
*
Monitor outstanding jobs and ensure 100% site compliance is maintained.
*
Work closely with site operations and third-party logistics teams to coordinate maintenance activities.
*
Respond promptly to service calls and arrange specialist contractor attendance where required.
*
Carry out minor installations, alterations and improvement works within your level of competence.
*
Identify recurring or non-repairable faults and provide recommendations for remedial works or replacement.
*
Manage site stock and ensure appropriate levels of critical spares are maintained.
*
Support site meetings and communicate maintenance requirements to customers and management.
*
Promote safe working practices and ensure all works comply with current Health & Safety legislation.
*
Ensure maintenance activities are recorded in real time using the site's CAFM system.
*
Support the development and training of junior engineers and technicians.
*
Participate in a 24/7 call-out and standby rota.
*
Maintain strong working relationships with both customers and colleagues.
About You
*
NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds 236 Parts 1 & 2 or equivalent electrical qualification.
*
18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
*
AM2 and/or 2391 Testing & Inspection.
*
At least 3 years' experience working with automated systems, ideally within a highly automated environment.
*
Strong electrical fault-finding and maintenance experience.
*
Good knowledge of mechanical and pneumatic systems.
*
Previous supervisory or team-leading experience is desirable.
*
Strong understanding of PPM and reactive maintenance.
*
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
*
A proactive approach to problem solving and maintenance.
*
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, operational environment.
