Lead Sewing Machinist
Your expertise in an industrial sewing environment, particularly with Quality Management Systems like ISO9001, will be crucial. Skilled in operating industrial sewing machines, you will produce high-quality finished goods and ensure all work meets stringent quality, safety, and compliance standards. Your ability to interpret technical drawings, set up and adjust machines, and troubleshoot issues will be essential.
In addition to your technical skills, your strong communication abilities and team-oriented mindset will help you thrive in this collaborative environment. Basic IT skills and the ability to complete production records accurately are also required.
Desirable skills include experience with ultrasonic welding machines, technical textiles, and lean manufacturing methods. An NVQ or City & Guilds qualification in sewing or textiles manufacturing would be advantageous, as would previous experience in a supervisory role.
The role involves a variety of tasks, from carrying out sewing and production tasks to recording daily output and maintaining high standards of housekeeping. You will also support continuous improvement initiatives and ensure adherence to all Health & Safety policies.
