Learning Support Assistant - Tower Hamlets Location: Tower Hamlets (near Mile End Station) Start Date: April Contract: Full-time | Long-term Pay: £95-£110 per day Key Stage: EYFS / KS1 Setting: Two Form Entry Primary School The Opportunity A well-established and community-focused primary school in Tower Hamlets is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join their team in April. This Learning Support Assistant role will involve supporting a Year 1 pupil with speech and language delay and emerging literacy needs. The Learning Support Assistant will work closely with the class teacher and SENCo to deliver structured phonics support, vocabulary development activities, and targeted communication interventions. The school has a strong inclusive ethos and benefits from experienced leadership and a consistent behaviour policy. Key Responsibilities Providing one-to-one support for a Year 1 pupil Delivering daily phonics reinforcement sessions Supporting speech and language programmes designed by external professionals Encouraging independence and social development Monitoring progress and providing feedback to teaching staff The Ideal Candidate The school is looking for a Learning Support Assistant who: Has experience supporting children in EYFS or KS1 Is confident delivering phonics-based interventions Has a calm, patient, and encouraging approach Works well as part of a collaborative team Has experience with speech and language needs (desirable) Graduates with degrees in Education, Psychology, Speech and Language, or Child Development are welcomed.
