SEN Teaching Assistant - Early Years ARP Location: New Addington, Croydon Start Date: Summer Term Contract: Full-time (Monday to Friday) Salary: Competitive (dependent on experience) A supportive and well-resourced primary school in New Addington is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their Early Years ARP (Additionally Resourced Provision) from the Summer term. This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with pupils in Nursery and Reception who have a range of special educational needs, including Autism (ASD) and speech and language difficulties. The provision is well-established within the school, with a strong team in place and clear structures to support both pupils and staff. The role will involve providing tailored 1:1 and small group support, helping pupils to access learning, develop communication skills, and regulate their behaviour within a nurturing and structured environment. The School Offers: A well-organised and resourced Early Years ARP Experienced and supportive SEN leadership team Clear routines and behaviour strategies in place Ongoing training and development in areas such as ASD and communication needs A collaborative and welcoming staff team The Role Will Involve: Supporting pupils with Autism and additional needs on a 1:1 and small group basis Assisting with early communication, phonics, and play-based learning Implementing EHCP targets and structured interventions Supporting with personal care where required Promoting positive behaviour and emotional regulation strategies The Ideal Candidate Will: Have experience working with children with SEN, ideally within Early Years Demonstrate a calm, patient, and nurturing approach Be proactive and able to use initiative within a structured setting Have a strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection Be committed to supporting children's development both academically and socially This role would suit someone looking to build or further their career within SEN, particularly in an Early Years setting, with the support of an experienced team.
