Learning Support Assistant (LSA)
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with additional learning needs
* Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored lessons and activities
* Support pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN), including autism, ADHD, and speech and language difficulties
* Help implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and personalised learning strategies
* Promote a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment
* Support pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development
* Monitor and report on pupil progress to teachers and SENCOs
* Assist with classroom preparation and general support duties
Requirements:
* Previous experience working with children, ideally in a school or SEN setting
* A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Patience, empathy, and a proactive attitude
* Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff
* Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
Desirable Skills:
* Experience supporting pupils with autism (ASC), ADHD, or other SEN
* Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures
* Relevant qualifications (e.g. CACHE Level 2/3, or equivalent)
* Training in areas such as behaviour management or SEN support
