We are currently recruiting for a detail-oriented and organised Subcontract Ledger Clerk to join a well-established and growing organisation within the building services and maintenance sector. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a supportive finance team, with strong prospects for long-term progression.
The Role
You will play a key role in ensuring subcontractor invoices are processed accurately and payments are made on time. You will also support job costing processes, maintaining accurate financial records across systems.
This is a 12-month fixed-term contract, with a strong possibility of becoming a permanent role based on performance and business growth.
Key Responsibilities
* Process subcontractor invoices accurately, ensuring correct job costing, CIS details, and retention deductions
* Manage invoice approvals to ensure payments are only made once authorised
* Set up new subcontractor accounts and support onboarding processes
* Run weekly payment schedules in line with agreed payment terms
* Maintain accurate electronic records and documentation
* Reconcile subcontractor statements
* Handle subcontractor queries both internally and externally
* Issue monthly CIS statements and assist with related queries
* Support the wider finance team to ensure smooth departmental operations
Skills & Experience
* Strong administrative and IT skills
* Good working knowledge of Excel (including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP, IF formulas)
* Excellent attention to detail
* Strong communication skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Good time management and organisational skills
