My client is a multi-service law firm committed to access to justice, their lawyers specialise in criminal defence, family law, housing, civil liberties, and human rights. They are a Legal 500 and Chambers UK recommended firm, and we are currently recruiting a Legal Secretary to join our Family & Childcare Team in our Canterbury Office. This is a full time position within a dynamic and growing team, offering an excellent opportunity for professional development within an award-winning law firm.

Your Profile

You will preferably:

* Have some experience working as a legal secretary or similar with a pretence for experience in family & childcare law.

* Be able aim to demonstrate an interest in Family law.

* Have strong organisational skills.

* Have the ability to work under pressure.

* Fast and accurate typing skills and spelling.

* Clear and precise written and verbal communication skills.

We would like the ideal candidate:

* To type from digital dictation, or otherwise including copy typing.

* To do such electronic filing as may be required from time to time.

* To deal with telephone calls whether incoming or outgoing from clients, Counsel, experts and other third parties.

* To keep appointment diaries for any Fee Earner or any Senior Member of the team.

* To deal with clients and others visiting the office as may be appropriate.

* To ensure compliance with all office procedures as laid down in the Practice Manual including any variations or amendments.

* To deal with CCMS legal aid matters / applications.

* To action any fee notes and/or matters pertaining to experts’ invoices.

* Any other such matters as required.
