Lesson Supervisor

Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with a number of secondary schools across Hastings and the wider East Sussex area and is currently seeking confident and reliable Lesson Supervisors to provide classroom cover on a flexible basis. This role is ideal for individuals looking to gain experience within education, including graduates, aspiring teachers, or those with previous experience working with children or young people. It is also suitable for those seeking flexible work within a school environment. The Role: Supervising classes during the short-term absence of the class teacher Delivering pre-prepared lesson materials and ensuring students remain on task Managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies Supporting students with their learning where appropriate Maintaining a calm, positive, and productive learning environment Providing feedback to teaching staff at the end of the lesson or school day Working across a range of subjects at Key Stages 3 and 4 Essential Requirements: No Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) required Experience working with children or young people in any setting (education, coaching, youth work, care, or similar) Strong communication and interpersonal skills Confidence in managing a classroom and engaging students A flexible, professional, and proactive approach An enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one What Teaching Personnel Can Offer: Competitive pay rates, paid weekly via PAYE Flexible work opportunities including day-to-day supply and long-term placements Valuable experience within a range of supportive secondary schools Ongoing support from a dedicated consultant who knows the local area Access to training and development opportunities This is a rewarding opportunity for anyone interested in working in education and supporting students’ learning.
