We are currently recruiting for an experienced LCV Technician to join a busy local authority workshop in Derby on a temp-to-perm basis.

This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a skilled team responsible for maintaining a diverse fleet of light commercial vehicles, vans and specialist plant equipment, ensuring they remain safe, compliant and roadworthy.

* Location: Stores Road, Derby

* Salary: £33,143 per annum

* Hours: 37 hours per week (alternating early and late shifts)

* Contract: Temp to Perm

* Start: ASAP

The Role:

As an LCV Technician, you will carry out servicing, inspections, maintenance and repairs on a range of light commercial vehicles and plant equipment. You'll diagnose faults, complete repairs to the highest standards and help keep the fleet operating efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

* Carry out routine servicing, maintenance and repairs on light commercial vehicles, vans and plant equipment.

* Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic faults using specialist diagnostic equipment.

* Ensure all work complies with DVSA roadworthiness standards and Operator Licence requirements where applicable.

* Respond to vehicle and plant breakdowns, carrying out emergency roadside repairs when required.

* Undertake welding, fabrication, body repairs and repainting where necessary.

* Complete service sheets, inspection reports and maintenance records accurately.

* Follow all Health & Safety procedures and maintain a clean, safe working environment.

* Participate in an out-of-hours standby rota and occasional overtime as required.

About You:

* Proven experience as an LCV Technician, Vehicle Technician, Commercial Vehicle Technician or Light Vehicle Technician.

* Strong diagnostic skills across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

* Experience carrying out inspections, servicing and repairs on light commercial vehicles.

* Knowledge of DVSA roadworthiness standards and vehicle compliance.

* A willingness to work alternating early and late shifts.

* A commitment to maintaining high standards of health and safety.
