Locum Lawyer - Criminal Law

Supply Star Recruitment are currently seeking experienced Locum Criminal Lawyers to support established law firms and legal practices across the UK. We are working with a reputable client requiring short-term and ongoing cover for criminal defence matters, including police station attendance and Magistrates’ Court representation. To be considered for this role you must have the following experience; * Operational Police law advice – such as Investigative advice, civil preventative orders, firearms licensing, PACE queries, Proceeds of Crime Act matters, Police Property Act queries and so on. * Advocacy experience – in particular Magistrates court in respect of civil preventative orders, such as Sexual Risk Orders, Sexual harm prevention orders, Stalking Protection Orders, Closure Orders and so on. * Possible PSD experience if available * Other relevant police law experience 📌 The Role You will provide high-quality legal representation across a range of criminal matters, including: * Police station attendance * Magistrates’ Court advocacy * Case preparation and file review * Client consultations * Duty solicitor cover (where applicable) Assignments range from ad hoc cover to longer-term placements. ✅ Requirements * Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Chartered Legal Executive (England & Wales) * Valid practising certificate * Criminal law experience (minimum 2 years preferred) * Police Station Accreditation (desirable) * Duty Solicitor status (advantageous but not essential) * Strong advocacy and client care skills * Ability to work independently and manage caseload effectively 💼 What We Offer * Competitive hourly/daily rates * Flexible working arrangements * Short-term and long-term placements * Prompt weekly payments * Dedicated consultant support To be considered, please send your cv
