Learning Support Assistant (LSA) – Performing Arts / Drama Specialist Sixth Form College | Agency Placement We are working in partnership with a vibrant and inclusive sixth form college to recruit an enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant with a background in Performing Arts, Drama, or Acting. This is a fantastic opportunity to support post-16 learners in a creative environment, helping them build confidence, develop their skills, and achieve their full potential. The Role As an LSA, you will support students across Performing Arts and Drama courses, working closely with teaching staff to provide tailored support for learners who require additional assistance. Many students have Special Educational Needs (SEN), so a patient, creative, and adaptable approach is key. Key Responsibilities * Provide in-class and practical support to students studying Performing Arts and Drama * Assist learners with SEN to engage in both theoretical and performance-based activities * Help adapt scripts, tasks, and rehearsal activities to suit individual needs * Encourage confidence, self-expression, and participation * Support students during rehearsals, performances, and coursework preparation * Work collaboratively with teaching staff to monitor and support student progress * Provide pastoral support where appropriate Ideal Candidate Profile * Degree, BTEC, or equivalent qualification in Performing Arts, Drama, Acting, or a related field * Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, LSA, or similar support role * Experience working with SEN students in an educational or youth setting * Passion for the arts and supporting young people in creative subjects * Strong communication and interpersonal skills * Patient, adaptable, and encouraging approach * Organised, reliable, and committed to student wellbeing What You Can Expect * Creative and supportive college environment * Opportunity to make a meaningful impact in post-16 education * Ongoing support from a specialist education recruitment agency * Competitive pay based on experience Safeguarding & Compliance This role is subject to an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references.
