Maintenance Engineer

Job title: Maintenance Engineer ( 60 Elec / 40 Mech bias) * Salary: £50,000-£55,000 * Working pattern: Monday to Friday 07:00 - 16:30 (some flexibility required) * Weekend work: Very infrequent - will not be as often as 5 times per year * Current Team: Engineering Manager + 1 * Reason for vacancy: New role; additional support required. Role was filled last 2025 but candidate did not work out My client in the food manufacturing industry are currently looking to onboard another engineer into their team. The Role You’ll join a small, hands-on engineering team, reporting to our Senior Engineer and Operations Director. This is a practical role focused on keeping production moving through: * Reactive and planned maintenance * Electrical fault-finding (including 3-phase) * Mechanical repairs and improvements * Supporting PLC-controlled equipment * Driving reliability and continuous improvement * Ensuring compliance with HSE and food safety standards No two days are the same — you’ll be problem-solving on the floor, not sitting behind a desk. About You * Qualified Electrical Engineer / Technician / Time-served Electrician * Strong electrical bias with solid mechanical skills * Experience in manufacturing or production * Calm under pressure and solution-focused * Experience in the Food Industry preferrable but not necessary
