Manufacturing Engineer
Location: Hamburg
Type: Permanent
The Manufacturing Engineer will own end-to-end manufacturing processes for high-precision CNC components, from feasibility through to stable serial production, with a strong focus on day-to-day shop floor performance. This role sits at the intersection of engineering, production and customer delivery, ensuring processes are robust, repeatable and efficient in a live manufacturing environment. As part of a small, early-stage team, you will combine process engineering with hands-on production oversight, supporting everything from new part introduction through to ongoing quality and output.
Responsibilities for the Manufacutring Engineer
* Develop, implement and optimise CNC manufacturing processes for precision components
* Lead new part introduction from feasibility and process planning through to production readiness
* Own day-to-day production performance, ensuring output, quality and efficiency targets are met
* Create and maintain work instructions, fixturing concepts and inspection plans
* Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions for production or quality issues
* Work closely with CAM and machining teams to refine tooling strategies and reduce cycle times
* Build and maintain a compliant quality management framework aligned to recognised standards
* Act as a technical interface between the shop floor and customers, providing DFM input where required
* Support integration of digital manufacturing systems for data capture, traceability and scheduling
* Standardise processes and documentation to enable replication across multiple sites
* Contribute to factory setup, including layout, inspection capability and production infrastructure
Requirements for the Manufacturing Engineer
* Degree or equivalent experience in mechanical or manufacturing engineering
* Experience within CNC machining or production engineering environments
* Strong understanding of machining processes, materials and tolerances
* Experience working with CAD/CAM systems and complex engineering drawings
* Ability to interpret GD&T and apply it in a production context
* Structured, analytical and capable of working independently
* Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-ownership environment with limited established processes
It will be desirable for the Manufacturing Engineer to have
* Experience within aerospace, defence or other regulated manufacturing environments
* Knowledge of quality management systems (e.g. EN 9100 / AS9100)
* Experience with FMEA, SPC, Six Sigma or similar methodologies
* Exposure to MES or digital manufacturing systems
* Interest in automation, robotics or data-driven manufacturing
Benefits for the Manufacturing Engineer
* Central role in establishing and running production within a scaling manufacturing environment
* Direct influence over processes that will be deployed across multiple sites
* Exposure to advanced manufacturing technologies and automation
* Work on complex, high-value engineering components
* Equity or long-term incentive opportunities (where applicable)
* High-performance, hands-on environment focused on continuous improvement
