Manufacturing Supervisor – Norwich Select are working with a long-established manufacturer in Norwich recruiting a hands-on Manufacturing Supervisor to lead a team across electrical and mechanical machine assembly operations. You'll be responsible for ensuring production meets safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets while driving a culture of continuous improvement and high performance. Key Responsibilities Oversee assembly of machinery, sub-assemblies, and electro-mechanical units to engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and build specifications Monitor workflow and production schedules to ensure on-time delivery Enforce quality standards; conduct in-process inspections and support root-cause analysis Maintain compliance with ISO, safety, and regulatory requirements Lead and motivate the manufacturing team; conduct daily briefings and allocate workload Support training, upskilling, and competency assessments across the team Drive continuous improvement using Lean tools (5S, Kaizen, standard work, waste reduction) Champion safety culture; ensure risk assessments, method statements, and equipment checks are current Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions Coordinate with Supply Chain, Engineering, and Quality to resolve constraints What We're Looking For Essential: Supervisory experience in a manufacturing or electro-mechanical assembly environment Strong understanding of engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and assembly practices Proven ability to lead and develop production teams Working knowledge of Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methods Strong communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills HNC or NVQ Level 4 in an Electromechanical discipline Desirable: HND/NVQ Level 5; Lean/Six Sigma qualification; IOSH Managing Safety Experience with ERP/MRP systems Background in low-volume, high-complexity or precision machinery builds Personal Attributes Adaptable, detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to build strong cross-functional relationships.
