Manufacturing Supervisor

Stockport | £55,000 | Permanent

A well-established engineering and defence manufacturer in Stockport is looking for a Manufacturing Supervisor to take ownership of day-to-day production operations. You'll be leading a team on the shop floor, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring products are delivered safely, on time, and to budget.

What you'll be doing:

Leading manufacturing operations to achieve production, quality, and cost targets

Championing continuous improvement to enhance efficiency, output, and team performance

Planning and allocating resources including shift coverage and cross-functional support

Delivering daily briefings and maintaining KPI boards (SQCDP) to track performance

Monitoring production progress, resolving issues, and implementing corrective actions

Supporting staff development through coaching, mentoring, and on-the-job training

Ensuring full compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations

Maintaining high workplace standards and ensuring audit readiness

Overseeing consistent application of quality systems, processes, and manufacturing standards

What you need:

Degree or HND in Manufacturing, Engineering, or a related discipline

Minimum 3 years' supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment

Demonstrated leadership ability with strong production risk management skills

Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills

Proficient in Microsoft Office

Flexibility around shift patterns (advance notice provided)

Experience in aerospace, automotive, or precision engineering desirable

SAP/MRP systems knowledge advantageous

IOSH or NEBOSH preferred
